Forge Readiness Assessment

Know exactly what your Connect app needs to run on Forge, in 48 hours

A written, module-by-module assessment of your Connect descriptor against Forge, with the blockers, the data plan, the scopes, the money and a fixed-price quote. $490 for one app, $690 for two. Credited in full against any port booked within 60 days.

What the report contains

The assessment follows a fixed template, so you can compare it with any other quote, and it is written to be actionable by any Forge developer, not only by us. Ten sections:

  1. Summary

Archetype (small, standard, integration), module and scope counts, how many modules have full, partial or no Forge equivalent, the recommended path, the fixed price, the calendar, and the estimated remittance saved per month.

  2. Module inventory and Forge equivalents

One row per module in your atlassian-connect.json: Connect type, key, location, Forge equivalent, UI model (UI Kit or Custom UI), parity (full, partial, blocked, drop) and notes. Lifecycle, authentication and conditions mapped as well.

  3. Scopes and permissions

Each Connect scope mapped to the granular Forge scopes it needs, with the major-version risk flagged per scope; egress domains and whether the app can qualify for Runs on Atlassian; a release plan that avoids an accidental major version.

  4. Blockers and open Atlassian tickets

The FRGE and ECO tickets that touch your modules, what each means for this app, our workaround, and the date we checked. Hard blockers are named; if one exists the port is not quoted and the recommendation changes.

  5. Data plan

Where your data lives today (entity properties, macro bodies, custom fields, your own database, third parties) and how each reaches Forge: keys kept unchanged, Atlassian's built-in migration pathways, Forge Remote, or a back-fill script. Tenant mapping from clientKey to cloudId. Limits stated plainly, plus a Forge usage-cost estimate for your install base.

  6. Revenue-share impact

Active installs, licensed users, list price and estimated gross revenue per month; the remittance at 25% on Connect versus 0% on Forge; the monthly difference and the payback period of the quoted port. Your own revenue figure replaces our estimate wherever you provide it.

  7. Effort estimate

Work items with hours for scaffold and manifest, module ports, data back-fill and tenant mapping, tests and dev-site install, listing and review queue, and a buffer for the blockers found.

  8. Fixed-price quote

The recommended package at a fixed price, the optional Listing & rollout and retainer, the assessment fee shown as a credit, and the total due: 50% on booking, 50% on Marketplace approval of the Forge version. What is not included is listed too.

  9. Timeline

Milestones from booking to the end of the 90-day support period, including your test window and the 10-15 business-day Marketplace review, with the risks to the timeline named.

  10. Questions we still need answered

Anything that would change the quote, so there are no surprises after booking. Appendices hold the exact descriptor assessed and the Atlassian references used.

The credit rule

Book any port, bridge or cleanup package within 60 days of receiving the assessment and the full assessment fee is deducted from that package's price. The quote in the assessment is valid for the same 60 days. If a hard blocker means a port cannot be quoted, you keep the assessment and pay nothing more.

What we need from you

  • The public URL of your Connect descriptor (atlassian-connect.json). This alone is enough to start.
  • Read access to the source (a repository invitation or a zip), which turns "partial" verdicts into precise ones.
  • Answers to a ten-question intake form (data location, install base, backend, third-party services, revenue figure if you want it used).

No calls required; a call is available if you prefer. The 48-hour clock starts when the descriptor and payment are in; if we need answers from you, the clock pauses, not the price. With vendor Q&A the typical total is 3-5 business days.
